Joni Ernst Fighting Trump's Appointees

Joni Ernst was a vocal opponent of Trump's Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth. Along with other voices in the Senate, like Lindsy Graham, Ernst was working overtime to sew doubt about Hegseth's potential leadership role in the military. Mischaracterizing Hegseth's stance about women in combat roles and lending creedence to the dismissed claims that he is an abuser. Eventually the calls from her constituency became too much to bear and she relented, letting Trump have his pick of Secretary of Defense.

This is another reminder to Iowa that they deserve to have someone in the Senate that fully supports the views of their constituents.
